CLOGSAG urges Mahama to scrap TVET, COTVET over duplication concerns

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG) has called on President John Mahama to dissolve agencies like the Technical, Vocational Education Training (TVET) and the Commission for Technical and Vocational Educational Training (COTVET).

CLOGSAG argues that these agencies duplicate the Civil Service's role in technical and vocational training, making some ministries ineffective and wasting government resources.

Executive Secretary Isaac Bampoe Addo criticized the creation of these agencies, describing them as unnecessary bureaucracies with poorly implemented mandates.

He also urged President Mahama to reinstate the "general orders" policy to standardize processes within the Civil Service and eliminate discretionary practices, which he believes have disrupted service operations.
