Businessman Alhaji Seidu Agongo has disclosed that he was detained for two days by the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) over accusations of supplying adulterated fertilizers to COCOBOD.

His revelation comes after the Attorney-General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, formally dropped all charges against him and former COCOBOD CEO, Dr. Stephen Opuni.

The two had faced 27 charges, including defrauding by false pretenses and causing financial loss to the state.

Speaking on Channel One TV, Agongo recounted how EOCO allegedly sought to intimidate him into a confession. “They wanted to put fear and panic in me,” he stated, describing his detention experience as a first-time ordeal.

The case, which began in 2018, has now been legally closed.
