COCOBOD urges public to disregard claims of producer price announcement

The Ghana Cocoa Board is asking the public to ignore false reports.

These reports claim a new producer price for cocoa has been announced.

COCOBOD issued an official statement clarifying that these claims are untrue.

They explained that necessary processes to set the price are not in place.

The statement advised everyone to disregard any news about a cocoa price decision.

There is currently no Board of Directors available to approve such decisions.

Without this board, crucial decisions cannot be made.

Additionally, the Producer Price Review Committee (PPRC) has not met yet.

This committee reviews and recommends the producer price for cocoa.

Due to these reasons, COCOBOD stated no announcement can be made at this time.
