The Ghana Catholic Bishops’ Conference has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his decisive victory in the 2024 general election, highlighting the trust Ghanaians have placed in him.
During a courtesy visit in Accra, Most Rev. Emmanuel Kofi Fianu, Vice President of the Conference, urged President Mahama to prioritize addressing post-election violence.
He also emphasized the upcoming education review forum from March 10-15, focusing on instilling nationalism and morality in children.
The Bishops called on the government to take strong action against illegal mining (galamsey), sign the LGBTQ+ Bill into law, and reconsider expatriate resident fees for missionaries.
President Mahama appreciated their prayers and contributions, promising to engage the Bishops in education and mediation efforts, particularly in Bawku.
