A heated confrontation erupted at the Appointments Committee as Minority and Majority members clashed over the vetting of Kwabena Mintah Akandoh and Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The Minority demanded a rescheduling to Friday, arguing that the day’s proceedings had reached their limit. However, the Majority firmly opposed the move, insisting that the vetting continue as planned.
The standoff escalated into chaos when Minority members disrupted the session, breaking tables and microphones in protest.
Security presence in the conference room was heightened as tensions flared.
While the Majority maintained that the committee was following its schedule, the Minority argued that an agreement had been made to vet only four nominees for the day.
The dispute ultimately brought proceedings to a halt, with both sides refusing to compromise.
