Hopeson Adorye, Head of Operations for the Movement for Change, has claimed that the petition calling for the removal of former Electoral Commission (EC) Chairperson Charlotte Osei was drafted at the Jubilee House, alleging that it was not initiated by any individual.
Speaking on CTV, Adorye suggested that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) orchestrated the petition, marking the beginning of politicizing the EC.
He emphasized that Osei’s removal was unjust, pointing to Dr. Afari-Gyan’s retirement as a model for how EC leadership should be handled.
Adorye also urged President Mahama to appoint a neutral EC Chairperson who can serve a full tenure, free from political interference.
