Renowned investigative journalist Manasseh Awuni Azure has accused President John Mahama of protecting former government officials accused of corruption.
In a Facebook post on Monday, February 10, Azure criticized Mahama’s mass discontinuation of court cases, arguing that it prioritizes political loyalty over justice.
He compared Mahama’s actions to those of former President Akufo-Addo, whom he once labeled the "Chief Clearing Agent."
He cited instances where previously "cleared" officials later admitted wrongdoing, referencing Pius Hadzide’s confession about the Australia visa scandal.
Azure warned that political interference in corruption cases undermines accountability, stating, "ORAL cannot succeed when its implementers are engaged in Operation Clear All Looters (OCAL)."
He urged Mahama to rethink his approach to fighting corruption.
