Franklin Cudjoe is the founder and president of IMANI Africa. He has serious concerns about the Chief Justice's suspension. He criticizes the Supreme Court's recent actions as politically motivated. He questions the law that requires private proceedings in these cases.
In a social media post today, Cudjoe targeted the Supreme Court. He claimed it has shown significant political bias over the past eight years.
He said, “Truth be told, the Supreme Court in the last 8 years has been very political.” He described it as "high-handed" and a "pliant" ally for the previous government.
Cudjoe cited high-profile cases involving Martin Amidu, Daniel Domelevo, and James Quayson. He believes these cases show how the court supported "dark agendas" from the past administration.
He also expressed skepticism about laws requiring private proceedings for determining the Chief Justice's fate. Cudjoe questioned their transparency and fairness. He doubts that such secrecy promotes justice.
His comments come as public interest grows regarding the Chief Justice’s suspension. This situation fuels national debate on judicial independence and accountability in Ghana.
