Chief Justice has every right to challenge her removal process – Former Deputy Attorney General

Former Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah spoke about Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. He stated she can challenge her removal process.

On JoyNews’ Newsfile programme, he emphasized her right to a fair hearing. Every citizen has the right to legal recourse, he said.

“She can contest every step if her rights are infringed,” he added. The Supreme Court is the right place for these legal concerns.

Tuah-Yeboah also discussed former Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame. He now represents the Chief Justice as a private lawyer.

“He is no longer the Attorney General,” Tuah-Yeboah explained. As a private practitioner, he can take any case.

The suspended Chief Justice can choose her own representation in court. “Just like the state chooses its lawyers, she can appoint someone she trusts,” he noted.
