Chief Supt. Dr Sarah Aba-Afari appointed as Madina Divisional Commander

Chief Superintendent Dr. Sarah Aba-Afari has been appointed as the Madina Divisional Commander. This decision was made by the new Inspector General of Police, Tetteh Christian Yuhono.

This appointment is a significant milestone in her career with the Ghana Police Service. Dr. Aba-Afari is the first female PhD holder in the police service in Ghana and Africa. She earned her PhD in Art Education from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2017.

In October 2023, she received two honorary doctorate degrees from Holy Spirit Bible University, USA. These honors recognized her leadership and contributions to crime reduction.

Dr. Aba-Afari has held various roles within the Ghana Police Service. She has also worked with the United Nations in Europe and Africa.

She is a counsellor and an expert in art therapy. Dr. Aba-Afari is dedicated to addressing gender issues and combating human trafficking.

In November 2024, she spoke at KNUST’s 58th Congregation as a motivational speaker. She shared insights from her career and encouraged graduates to embrace challenges.

Dr. Aba-Afari attended Hohoe E.P. Senior High School and Krachi Senior High School. She hails from Hohoe, is married, and is a mother.

She successfully balances her professional and personal life with dedication and grace.
