China supports free trade, multilateral system -Tong Defa

China will continue to open up its economy. The country supports free trade and the multilateral trading system. This statement came from Mr. Tong Defa, China's Ambassador to Ghana.

Mr. Tong emphasized building relationships with diplomatic partners worldwide. He highlighted the importance of mutual respect and shared prosperity.

He spoke at a press briefing in Accra on Wednesday. This followed the trade war started by U.S. President Donald Trump. The U.S. imposed high tariffs on China, prompting China to respond with reciprocal tariffs.
