Chowdeck launches in Ghana with rider training, customer rewards, and plans to enhance on-demand delivery

Chowdeck, Africa’s leading on-demand delivery service, has launched in Ghana. They introduced a customer rewards scheme and a rider training program. This program aims to help riders deliver faster, safer, and more reliably.

Riders received training in professionalism, app usage, customer service, and delivery quality. They also learned about Rider Games, which rewards them with cash bonuses for completing orders. Depending on their activity, riders can access loans up to GH₵1,000. The training will continue periodically as Chowdeck grows in Ghana.

For customers, Chowdeck offers a referral scheme. New users receive GH₵10 on their first order and another GH₵10 on their second order when they refer friends. After their first order of the month, customers can unlock their Chowscore loyalty scheme. This gives access to rewards like free delivery and exclusive discounts based on tier level. Customers can also enjoy a 30 percent discount and free deliveries.

Chowdeck operates in several areas of Accra: Osu, Cantonments, Labone, Airport, Dzorwulu, East Legon, Madina, Adenta, Oyarifa, and Abokobi. Customers can order meals and groceries for delivery within an average of 30 minutes. The company uses advanced technology for efficient logistics operations.

Since its launch in Nigeria in October 2021, Chowdeck has gained 1.5 million users and over 20,000 riders across 11 cities. Expanding into Ghana is a significant step towards becoming the top delivery service in Africa.

Ghana's rapid urbanization presents growth opportunities for Chowdeck. Recent data shows that 87 percent of Ghanaians use mobile phones for food delivery services. Digital payment transactions are expected to reach US$2.35 billion by 2025.

Femi Aluko, CEO of Chowdeck said that Ghana is the start of their pan-African growth strategy. He emphasized building infrastructure for commerce while providing value to businesses and customers alike.

Henry Whyte joins Chowdeck as Country Lead - Ghana after his role at Bolt Ghana. He helped drive Bolt's success in the ride-hailing sector there.

Henry stated that Chowdeck aims to improve on-demand delivery through technology and local talent while enhancing customer experience.

The Chowdeck app is now available for download on Google Play Store and Apple App Store in Ghana.
