Circular economy project gets boost:  SMEs allocated $4.35m …for sustainable plastic waste management

The first part of the $4.35 million for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) has been released.

A total of $331,606 was given to 10 SMEs. This funding is part of the Framework for the Plastics Sector in Ghana (CEF-PS) Project.

The project aims to reduce plastic pollution in oceans and waterways. It also seeks to develop a circular economy in the country.

Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed attended the disbursement event with other dignitaries and beneficiaries.

Additionally, this funding supports the National Plastic Management Policy (NPMP). It also backs the National Plastic Action Partnership (NPAP). Both initiatives focus on managing plastic waste sustainably and reducing harmful emissions from plastics.
