Citi FM and Channel One TV donated GH¢25,000 and items to the Chosen Rehabilitation Centre in Accra. This donation is part of the annual Easter Orphan Project. The project aims to promote giving during Easter. It has brought joy to many less privileged individuals over the years.
Frema Adunyame, Head of Events and Partnerships at Citi FM and Channel One TV, spoke during the presentation. She emphasized the role of their audience in making this initiative possible. “The essence of Easter is about giving,” she said. “As Christians and Muslims, we should follow this gesture.”
She explained that they visit orphanages every Easter Monday to give donations from listeners and viewers. This year, they included Chosen Rehab because of its significant work.
Apostle Daniel Cobby Washington, founder of Chosen Rehabilitation Centre, expressed gratitude for the donation. He highlighted its importance for their mission.
Citi FM and Channel One TV also donated GH¢25,000 to Iris Place, another rehabilitation centre in Accra. They provided cartons of milk, bags of rice, and used clothing as well.
Samuel Atta Mensah, Managing Director of Citi FM and Channel One TV, praised Iris Place staff for their dedication. He noted that many people face challenges due to disabilities during Easter gatherings.
“Listeners donate both financially and with goods,” he said. “We support places like Iris Place because of their great work.”
Allan Mends, manager of Iris Place, thanked them for their support. He acknowledged how much it means for their operations.
“Recovery is expensive,” he stated. “Your donation helps us greatly.” He added that addiction is a disease and not a moral issue.
