Citi FM and Channel One TV donated GH¢25,000 to Iris Place. They also gave cartons of milk, bags of rice, and used clothing. This donation is part of the Easter Orphan Project. This project is a long-standing initiative by Citi FM and Channel One TV.
The donation adds to previous contributions made to the Baptist School Complex Orphanage (BASCO). During the presentation, Samuel Atta Mensah spoke on behalf of both organizations. He praised Iris Place for their dedication to helping individuals reclaim their lives.
"It is Easter," he said. "Families are gathering, and people are traveling." He noted that some individuals face challenges due to disabilities. "We raise money from our listeners and viewers who donate generously," he added.
Allan Mends manages Iris Place and expressed deep gratitude for the donation. He highlighted how it would impact their operations positively. "On behalf of our staff and management, thank you for this support," he said.
"Recovery is expensive, so we appreciate your wonderful donation," he continued. "Addiction is a disease, not a moral issue." He emphasized that they feel supported through this generous gift.
