President John Dramani Mahama has fired Charles Kraikue. He was the Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
This decision was made official in a letter dated April 2, 2025. The termination takes effect immediately.
The letter was signed by Callistus Mahama, the Secretary to the President. It instructed Mr. Kraikue to hand over his duties to Stephen Wilfred Arthur. Arthur will serve as the acting Director-General.
The letter expressed gratitude for Kraikue’s service to the nation. It acknowledged his contributions during his time in office.
Key government officials received copies of the termination notice. This includes the Vice President, Chief of Staff, and Minister of Transport. However, no reasons were given for Kraikue's sudden dismissal.
