Claims that Bawumia can never be president is nothing new – Kofi Ofosu Nkansah

Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, former Chief Executive of NEIP, has responded to critics. He believes Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia can be president of Ghana.

Nkansah pointed out that similar doubts were expressed about John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Both eventually became presidents when the time was right.

He dismissed these claims as mere political rhetoric. According to him, they should not be taken seriously.

Nkansah shared his thoughts on social media while defending Bawumia, the NPP's former flagbearer for the 2024 elections. He stated, “Akufo-Addo can never be President… They said the same about Kufuor.”

He noted that some even claimed an Asante could never be president. Therefore, he urged people not to be surprised by doubts about Dr. Bawumia.

His comments followed a prophecy suggesting Kennedy Agyapong will lead the NPP in 2028. This leadership change is expected to revive the party, which is struggling in opposition.
