The Clerk to Parliament, Ebenezer Azumah Djietro, has announced that Ghana's Ninth Parliament will commence its first sitting immediately following the dissolution of the Eighth Parliament.
The session, scheduled to begin at 12:05 a.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, will focus on key activities, including the election of the Speaker of Parliament and two deputies.
Additionally, oaths of office will be administered to newly elected Members of Parliament and the incoming Speaker.
In preparation for the incoming John Mahama-led administration, Parliament has already approved the 2025 mini-budget.
The outgoing government is set to formally transfer power later that day.
