The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has forecast mostly cloudy weather for Tuesday, May 21, 2025. Isolated thunderstorms are expected later in the day.
In its 24-hour outlook, GMet noted that mist or fog may form early. This will likely occur along the coast and in mountainous areas. As the day progresses, sunny intervals will develop with occasional clouds.
GMet warns of isolated thunderstorms affecting various regions from late afternoon to evening. These storms may occur with or without rainfall.
Regional Breakdown
Coastal areas like Accra, Kasoa, Takoradi, and Cape Coast will have a cloudy morning. They can expect sunny intervals later on. Takoradi and Axim might see thunderstorms in the evening with a 30% chance of rain.
In the middle and forest zones, including Kumasi and Obuasi, mornings will start misty or partly cloudy. Sunny conditions will follow throughout the day. Thunderstorms are likely in places like Akim Oda and Kete Krachi during the afternoon and evening.
Northern regions such as Tamale, Yendi, Bolgatanga, Wa, and Bole will experience a mix of clouds and sun. Scattered thunderstorms are expected in these areas during the afternoon and evening.
Temperatures
Daytime temperatures will be warm across the country. Coastal areas like Takoradi may reach highs of 31°C. In contrast, parts of the Upper East Region could hit 38°C. Evening temperatures are expected to drop into the mid-20s across most regions.
Marine Conditions
GMet also reports that sea conditions are rough today. Marine operators and coastal residents should take necessary precautions.
