Cloudy weather and thunderstorms to affect Ghana’s weather today

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released a 24-hour weather forecast. This forecast is valid from 6:00 a.m. today, May 13, 2025.

Different regions will experience varying weather conditions. Expect mist, fog, cloudy weather, and thunderstorms throughout the day.

This morning, mist and fog patches are likely along coastal areas. Forests and mountainous regions may also see similar conditions.

Cloudy weather with possible rain is expected in parts of the transition and middle belts. The rest of the country will have partly cloudy skies.

As the day goes on, conditions will change. By afternoon, most areas will see a mix of sun and clouds.

From afternoon into evening, thunderstorms or rain are predicted. This includes regions north of the coastline and in the middle and northern sectors.

Here’s the weather forecast for major cities:

Accra: Partly cloudy this morning with temperatures around 27°C. It will be sunny in the afternoon with highs of 33°C. Evening temperatures will drop to 28°C under cloudy skies.

Kumasi: Expect partly cloudy weather this morning at 25°C. The afternoon will be sunny with highs reaching 34°C. Thunderstorms are expected in the evening with temperatures around 28°C.

Cape Coast: Cloudy this morning at 24°C. Rain is expected in the afternoon as temperatures rise to 30°C. Thunderstorms will continue into the evening with a temperature of 27°C.

Takoradi: Misty conditions this morning at 24°C. Thunderstorms are expected later in the afternoon with a high of 32°C. Rain is anticipated in the evening, cooling down to 27°C.

Tamale: Partly cloudy this morning at a temperature of 27°C. Sunny intervals are expected in the afternoon with highs around 36°C. Thunderstorms are forecasted for evening temperatures at 29°C.
