Cocaine cargo bust: NACOC intercepts 73 slabs bound for the Netherlands

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a large quantity of suspected cocaine. This operation took place at the Swiss Port in Tema.

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, authorities stopped a cargo shipment bound for the Netherlands. They found 73 slabs of a substance believed to be cocaine. The total weight of the drugs is 89.74 kilograms.

The drugs were cleverly hidden in the cargo to avoid detection. Four suspects have been arrested and are now in custody.

Initial intelligence indicates this was part of a larger trafficking operation. NACOC is working to uncover the broader network involved in this smuggling attempt.

This interception shows NACOC's commitment to fighting drug trafficking. It highlights their efforts at Ghana’s major ports.

Authorities are concerned about traffickers' evolving tactics. These criminals aim to exploit Ghana’s export routes for international distribution.

Investigations are ongoing, and more updates will follow as details emerge.
