Columbia University students explore Smart Card Technology at Margins ID

A group of MBA students from Columbia University recently visited Intelligent Card Production Systems (ICPS). ICPS is the secure card manufacturing branch of Margins ID Group. The visit showcased advancements in digital identity and secure card production.

Emmanuel Selby, Executive Director for Technology, briefed the students during their tour of ICPS.

ICPS produces high-security smart cards, including the Ghana Card. This card is essential to the country’s digital ecosystem.

Bruce Kogut, a professor at Columbia Business School, led the delegation. He remarked on Ghana's impressive work in high-security solutions. He found it remarkable how technology integrates with governance here.

Maria Hamwi, an MBA student on the trip, was impressed by ICPS’s fraud reduction efforts. She noted that ICPS stands out among other companies they visited. “It’s not just about business; it’s about national transformation,” she said.

The students learned about Margins ID Group's role in Ghana’s National ID Project. MIDSA provides advanced software solutions and biometric verification for the Ghana Card. IMS designed and built the National ID infrastructure through a Public-Private Partnership with the National Identification Authority (NIA).
