Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Foreign Affairs Minister, announced a new visa policy. Visa processing will now take 5 days instead of 4 to 6 weeks.
The minister stated that this policy takes immediate effect. He emphasized that Ghana is open for business and welcomes tourists. Visitors can enjoy the Black Star experience.
In a post on X, Ablakwa shared details about the new visa policy. He wrote that visa applications will be processed within 5 working days. The ministry has implemented measures to reduce processing time significantly.
Ablakwa referenced President Mahama's inaugural address from January 7, 2025. The president declared that “Ghana is opened for business.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs aims to support this vision through faster consular services.
He also mentioned his commitment to making Ghana a top destination for investors and tourists. This includes eliminating bureaucratic obstacles.
However, Ablakwa clarified that the new policy does not guarantee automatic visa approval. A decision will be made within 5 working days regarding eligibility for a visa.
He concluded by inviting everyone to experience what Ghana has to offer.
