Beatrice Annan, a member of the NDC Communication Team, spoke on Metro TV. She stated that the presidency did not leak copies of petitions about the chief justice's removal.
Annan said, "I haven't seen a copy of the petition." She added that she has not seen any of the five petitions at the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee.
She emphasized that the petition was treated as highly confidential. "The petition was treated as if it was a state secret," she explained. Although received months ago, no one at the presidency saw its contents.
Annan noted that the timing of the leak suggests it did not come from them. "Copies of the petitions started circulating after the Chief Justice received hers," she said. If there is any leakage, it would not be from the presidency.
When pressed further, Annan affirmed her position. "It’s not possible for a leak to have come from us," she stated. The petition was kept so confidential that no one knew about it for weeks.
She questioned why President would leak a petition he had for over a month. "It just doesn’t add up," she said.
Annan urged careful examination of events surrounding the leak. "Those referring to the content should tell us where they got their copies," she said. If she hasn't seen it, then it certainly did not come from them.
