Coral Paints has launched the ‘Women in Colour’ programme. This initiative aims to close the gender gap in the paint industry. It focuses on teaching women practical skills in painting and surface finishing.
The launch event occurred on Monday, April 7, 2025. The programme offers more than just technical training. It provides women with a path to sustainable income and economic independence.
Celestina Inkoom, General Manager of Coral Paints, spoke about the initiative. She said it reflects the company's commitment to gender inclusion and empowerment. "It empowers women facing social and economic challenges," she stated.
Business Development Manager Luiz Carlos also spoke at the event. He emphasized the importance of purpose-driven work. The initiative helps women reclaim their identity and gain financial autonomy.
Participants will engage in a one-month programme that includes a two-week internship. They will learn how to apply their new skills during this time. "We will support them as they promote their work," Mr. Carlos noted.
Cecilia Fiaka, CEO of the Nneka Youth Foundation, praised the initiative. She called it a step in the right direction for women's opportunities. "If you train a woman, you train the whole world," she remarked.
She highlighted that training twenty women will impact many families positively. These women are expected to make a significant difference in their communities.
As Ghana seeks greater inclusivity, initiatives like ‘Women in Colour’ are transformative. They not only change lives but also reshape entire industries for better gender balance.
