CorpsAfrica/Ghana held its third Pitch Day on April 9, 2025. The event took place at the British Council in Accra.
Current Group 3 Volunteers presented innovative projects to potential funders. The audience included development partners, alumni, and supporters.
Inspired by Shark Tank, Pitch Day is a transformative platform. It aims to fund sustainable initiatives led by young African leaders.
The event supports CorpsAfrica’s mission of promoting local ownership in development. It fosters African philanthropy and builds youth leadership through real-world experiences.
Five inspiring Volunteers from Ghana's Central, Volta, and Northern Regions presented urgent community needs:
- Cyprian W. Awiah: School Block Renovation in Pagazaa, Northern Region.
- Bellama Gado: Mechanized Borehole in Effutu Kokoado and Tayido, Central Region.
- Mildred A. Adeaba: Grasscutter Rearing & Tricycle Transportation in Effutu Kokoado.
- Benjamin A. Lugu: Tilapia Fish Farming in Kpeve Tornu, Volta Region.
- Mudasir M. Abubakari: Stream Dredging for Irrigation in Moglaa, Northern Region.
The “Sharks” panel included leaders from various organizations. They provided feedback and potential support to these changemakers.
Jessica Musey, CorpsAfrica/Ghana country director, emphasized the event's significance. She stated it celebrates human potential.
Key attendees included Michael Abbiw and Jerry Adjorlolo as Master of Ceremonies.
This event highlights CorpsAfrica’s commitment to empowering local communities. It redefines development through grassroots leadership.
Now in its third year in Ghana, CorpsAfrica has deployed 41 Volunteers into communities. Each Volunteer collaborates with residents to address pressing needs in WASH, education, health, and infrastructure.
