President John Dramani Mahama has called for an end to corruption in Ghana's military.

He spoke at the swearing-in ceremony of the Armed Forces Council. President Mahama emphasized that a military's strength comes from ethical leadership and discipline, not just weapons or size.

“The strength of the military is built on integrity and ethical leadership,” he stated. He explained that effectiveness relies on character and professionalism, not sheer numbers.

The President reminded the new council members about Ghana's respected military reputation. “Ghana has long prided itself on having a disciplined military,” he said. He urged them to uphold these values.

He highlighted the council's responsibility to maintain high standards of conduct. “We must ensure transparency and accountability within the Armed Forces,” he added.

Corruption and misconduct will not be tolerated, he declared. “They must have no place in our military,” President Mahama said. Military leaders should inspire trust among both soldiers and citizens.

He reaffirmed that a strong military is based on service and integrity. “A strong military earns respect through dedication to duty,” he noted.

President Mahama concluded by urging continued commitment to these core values. This commitment has made Ghana’s military one of the most respected globally.
