Corruption claims against my appointees were probed, dismissed – Akufo-Addo

In his final State of the Nation Address on Friday, January 3, 2025, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fighting corruption, emphasizing robust institutional reforms and key legislative actions.

The President highlighted the establishment of the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), the Witness Protection Act of 2018, and the Criminal Offences (Amendment) Act of 2020, which elevated corruption to a felony with harsher penalties.

He also cited the Fiscal Responsibility Act and the Anti-Money Laundering Act as critical measures strengthening accountability.

President Akufo-Addo assured that independent bodies investigated corruption allegations against appointees and generally found baseless, underscoring his administration’s efforts to enhance transparency and institutional integrity.
