A Circuit Court has granted bail of GHC13 million to four individuals. They were arrested for attempting to export cocaine. The arrest occurred at the Swissport terminal in Kotoka International Airport.
The four individuals are Gariba Soli, Josiah Baidoo, Emmanuel Mintah, and Kwabena Ampfo Anti. They are freight forwarders and have been charged with several offenses. These include attempting to export a narcotic substance without a license and conspiracy.
The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) detained them over 89.74 kilograms of suspected cocaine. This shipment was bound for the Netherlands.
Reports indicate that the cocaine was intercepted at the Swiss Port in Tema. A routine inspection on April 23, 2024, uncovered the drugs. The cargo contained concealed substances suspected to be cocaine.
In total, 73 slabs weighing approximately 89.74 kilograms were seized during this operation.
