Several high-profile criminal cases against National Democratic Congress (NDC) appointees could be discontinued following the appointment of a new Attorney-General after the 2024 elections.
Among these are the cases involving Cassiel Ato Forson and Richard Jakpa, charged with causing financial loss over unfit ambulances; Collins Dauda, implicated in the Saglemi Housing Project scandal; and Stephen Kwabena Opuni, accused of causing GH¢271.3 million in fertilizer-related losses.
Additionally, Sedinam Christine Tamakloe Attionu, convicted for embezzling MASLOC funds, may avoid serving her sentence if repatriation efforts stall.
These cases are expected to be halted, as has occurred in past transitions of power.
