Criminals have lost billions – KSM on why Gold Board success faces resistance

Ghanaian satirist Kwaku Sintim-Misa, known as KSM, has highlighted a silent war. This war targets recent financial reforms, especially the new Gold Board.

KSM noted that the Board earned GH¢5.7 billion for Ghana in just four months. He believes this money would have gone to criminal networks and foreign actors.

“Do you think it’s easy how the cedi is appreciating?” KSM asked. He urged Ghanaians to look beyond surface politics.

He encouraged people to engage with those who understand the new policies. “Go and sit down with them and listen,” he advised.

KSM warned that the revenue from the Board disrupted illicit flows benefiting smugglers. “All that money would have been in somebody's pocket,” he stated.

He explained that without the Gold Board, funds would leak to criminals from other countries.

KSM pointed out that these reforms face resistance. He suspects those who profited from corruption are plotting to regain their losses.

“Do you think they are sitting down quietly?” he questioned. “They are masterminding, they are planning.”

Framing this as a battle between progress and entrenched interests, KSM noted rising civic awareness among youth. “People are woke,” he said about millennials.

“They think differently now,” he added. “There’s more focus and resilience against nonsense.”
