Czech President Petr Pavel arrives in Ghana today, April 8, 2025. This visit is historic. It is the first by a Czech or Czechoslovak leader in over sixty years.
The visit aims to strengthen diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. President Pavel will arrive in Accra after visiting Mauritania. He will be formally welcomed at Jubilee House, Ghana’s presidential office.
Later, he will meet with President John Dramani Mahama. Their talks will focus on trade, investment opportunities, and economic partnerships.
Ghana has a population of 35 million people. The country attracts global interest due to its political stability and growing economy. Discussions on Tuesday are expected to enhance collaboration in energy, infrastructure, healthcare, and education.
On Wednesday, President Pavel has several important engagements planned. He will open a Ghana-Czech business forum to promote partnerships between companies from both countries.
Additionally, he will inaugurate the Czech House. This new center will serve as a hub for cultural and diplomatic cooperation.
President Pavel will also attend the commissioning of a hospital built by a Czech firm. This highlights Czech investment in Ghana's healthcare sector.
The Czech delegation plans to leave Accra on Thursday morning. President Pavel is scheduled to return to Prague later that evening.
