Czech President Petr Pavel to embark on historic three-day visit to Ghana

Ghana will host the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel. His three-day state visit is from April 8 to 10, 2025.

This visit is historic. It is the first by a Czech leader since 1959. Diplomatic ties were established between Ghana and Czechoslovakia that year.

The Presidency’s Communications Office confirmed this visit. President John Dramani Mahama will welcome President Pavel. This will be Mahama's first official state visit since returning to office in January 2025.

During his stay, President Pavel will hold discussions with President Mahama. They will focus on strengthening relations between their countries.

President Pavel will also address a business forum. He plans to inaugurate a Czech-funded health facility as well. Additionally, he will visit historic sites like Osu Castle and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park.

Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the President's Spokesperson, highlighted the visit's significance. He stated that “President Mahama will host a State Dinner in honour of the visiting Head of State.”

This visit aims to reinforce economic and diplomatic ties. It seeks to open new avenues for collaboration between Ghana and the Czech Republic.
