DVLA to partner Office of Chief Imam to sensitise ‘okada’ riders to road safety regulations - Ghanaian Times

The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) will work with the National Chief Imam. They aim to educate motorcycle operators about road safety regulations.

This initiative is important due to the government's plan to legalize commercial motorcycle operations, known as okada.

Mr. Julius Neequaye Kotey, the DVLA Chief Executive, announced this during a visit to Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu. The visit took place at the Chief Imam's residence in Accra on Wednesday.

Mr. Kotey emphasized the need for collaboration with the Chief Imam's office. Many motorcycle riders come from the Muslim community and respect him.
