Dada KD was doing well before his demise – Manager

King Pee, the manager of Ghanaian Highlife legend Dada Kwaku Duah, confirmed his death. Dada KD, as he was known, passed away on May 16, 2025. King Pee denied rumors that the musician died broke or under controversial circumstances.

On Saturday, May 17, King Pee spoke to *Ghana Weekend*. He explained that Dada KD fell ill suddenly on Friday. His househelp alerted close associates who rushed him to Gbawe SDA Hospital. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead later that night.

“Dada KD wasn’t sick,” King Pee said. “He suddenly went quiet and couldn’t make it.” The family plans to issue an official statement soon.

King Pee also addressed social media rumors about Dada KD's finances and mental health. He denied claims that the musician had been shot in a recording studio. A video circulating online showing Dada KD in distress is from five years ago.

“Dada KD was not broke,” King Pee emphasized. “He was doing very well.” He mentioned that Dada KD planned to submit a UK visa application for a show next Saturday.

The late musician is survived by five children and a fiancée in the United States. His sudden death is a significant loss for fans of Ghanaian Highlife music.
