Former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has expressed deep appreciation to Ghanaians, the government, and the Ghana Police Service following his removal from office.

In a statement on March 14, he thanked former President Akufo-Addo for appointing him and acknowledged President John Mahama for their brief working relationship.

Dampare also extended gratitude to religious leaders, civil society, and security agencies for their support. Reflecting on his 35-year service, he described his rise from a General Constable to the youngest IGP in the Fourth Republic as an “incredible opportunity.”

Despite his exit, he reaffirmed his commitment to serving Ghana, stating, “I remain energetic, committed, and enthusiastic about serving my nation with discipline, honour, and integrity.”
