Daniel McKorley, Executive Chairman of the McDan Group, has received an award. He was named Salt Mining CEO of the Year at the 2025 Ghana CEO Summit. The event took place in Accra on May 26.
This award recognizes his leadership in revitalizing a vital industry in Ghana.
Upon receiving the accolade, McKorley expressed gratitude for his team’s efforts. He said, “What a year it’s turning out to be.” He emphasized that this award represents their collective vision and hard work.
Under his guidance, Electrochem Ghana transformed the Ada Songor Salt Project. The project is now a key part of Ghana’s mineral economy.
Electrochem operates one of West Africa’s largest salt pans. They have increased production while focusing on community development and environmental care.
McKorley dedicated the award to his staff, especially field workers. Their dedication and resilience keep the company successful.
He also thanked clients who believed in their vision. “When we started, it seemed impossible to work with such clients,” he noted.
Electrochem's growth over five years shows what strong leadership can achieve. Their advancements in salt processing and infrastructure have boosted the local economy.
