Danyame Assault: Two more nabbed in civilian attack case

Two more suspects have been arrested in connection with an assault. Military intelligence apprehended them in Danyame, a suburb of Kumasi. This brings the total number of suspects to eleven.

The incident happened on March 28, 2025. Three men were arrested by military personnel for allegedly stealing an iPhone. The victims are Kwame Adu (Ogee), Kwabena Sarfo, and Christian Obiri Yeboah (Kofi Yesu). They were reportedly taken to the 4th Infantry Battalion barracks in Kumasi.

At the barracks, they faced severe beatings. Two of the victims later died from their injuries.

On June 4, 2025, a hearing took place at the Suame District Court. Magistrate Ekuna Emmanuel Mawuli presided over the case. The suspects were charged with conspiracy to commit a crime and murder. They were remanded into military police custody.

The case has been adjourned until June 17, 2025.
