A Senior Lecturer at the University of Ghana has criticized the NPP's Thank You Tour.
Dr. Kwame Asah-Asante believes this tour is unnecessary right now.
He expressed his views on Joy News’ PM Express on Monday.
“There are more pressing issues the party should address,” he said.
He highlighted unresolved internal problems that need attention.
Dr. Asah-Asante noted the bickering during the party’s primaries.
This conflict affected the entire electoral process, he emphasized.
The lingering disputes threaten the party’s unity, according to him.
“I haven’t seen their report, but these issues persist,” he stated.
He suggested it is a good time for reconciliation within the party.
Dr. Asah-Asante mentioned key figures who need to be brought together.
“People like Amoako Baah and Afoko must be addressed,” he said.
He argued that the thank-you tour could have been handled better.
“A simple press release would have sufficed,” he suggested.
Then, focus on resolving specific internal conflicts, he added.
In his opinion, the tour does not help with current challenges.
“For me, it’s a waste of time,” Dr. Asah-Asante declared.
Ignoring these issues may worsen divisions in the party, he warned.
“You must fix your house before showing appreciation,” he advised.
