Declare assets by May 7 or I’ll sack you – Mahama to appointees

President John Dramani Mahama has issued a strict ultimatum. All government appointees must comply with asset declaration laws. Those who do not will be dismissed after May 7, 2025.

This directive aims to promote transparency and accountability in his administration. It follows an earlier deadline of March 31, which some appointees missed.

At the launch of the Code of Conduct for government appointees in Accra on May 5, Mahama stressed the importance of compliance. He stated that no one would be exempt from consequences.

“If you fail to declare your assets by May 7, count yourself dismissed,” he warned. He emphasized that he would not compromise on protecting the integrity of his government.

Mahama also announced financial penalties for those who missed the March deadline. Defaulters will lose three months’ salary and must donate one month’s salary to the MahamaCares Fund.
