President John Mahama has taken strong action against public appointees. They failed to declare their assets by the March 31 deadline.
Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister of State for Government Communications, shared this on Facebook. He stated that all defaulters will lose four months of their salaries. They must also donate this amount to the Ghana Medical Trust Fund.
Kwakye Ofosu said, “All defaulters have until the end of tomorrow to declare their assets or face automatic dismissal.”
This move shows President Mahama’s commitment to transparency and accountability. His administration aims to restore trust in public service.
Sources say the directive affects both senior and junior appointees. No exemptions will be made based on rank or influence.
The Asset Declaration Act requires public officials to declare their assets before taking office. They must also do so periodically while in service.
President Mahama’s decision aligns with the government’s focus on good governance and integrity.
