Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, praised the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF). He highlighted their commitment to defending the nation by land, sea, and air. This dedication often comes at great personal risk.
Dr. Boamah noted that the military's discipline and professionalism strengthen Ghana’s democracy. He believes democratic governance is essential for national development. “Our gallant men and women in uniform prove that democracy builds a prosperous Ghana,” he stated.
The Minister shared these thoughts in a recent Facebook post. He also reaffirmed the government's commitment to restoring economic stability. Under President John Dramani Mahama's leadership, progress is being made.
“The President and his team are working to fix the economy,” Dr. Boamah said. He encouraged citizens to adopt the Armed Forces' patriotic mindset and discipline. This can foster national unity and civic responsibility.
He issued a strong warning against illegal mining activities. “Do not return to forest reserves or water bodies for galamsey,” he cautioned. “A word to the wise is enough.”
Dr. Boamah’s comments come as efforts continue to combat illegal mining and promote environmental protection in Ghana.
