Defence Minister oversees handing over of Chief of Defence Staff

The Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, oversaw the handover ceremony. This event marked the transition from General Thomas Oppong-Peprah to Major General William Agyapong as Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS).

General Oppong-Peprah wore a red ceremonial uniform during the ceremony. He formally handed over leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) to Maj. Gen. Agyapong, who was in a green military uniform.

Dr. Omane Boamah praised General Oppong-Peprah for his service and leadership. He noted Oppong-Peprah's contributions to military modernization and national security.

The Minister urged Maj. Gen. Agyapong to strengthen the Ghana Armed Forces. He emphasized the importance of operational readiness and national defense preparedness.

The ceremony took place at Burma Camp in Accra. It was attended by senior military officers, government officials, and dignitaries.
