Defence Minister pays tribute to late Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley

Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, praised the late Sam Pee Yalley. He called him a “passionate soldier” in Ghana’s fight for democracy. Dr. Boamah referred to this struggle as the nation’s "second independence."

Sam Pee Yalley passed away over the weekend at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. He was a former Ghanaian Ambassador to India.

In his statement, Dr. Boamah recognized Yalley's dedication to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). This was especially true during the 2024 general elections when the party won decisively.

“Uncle Sam was more than a diplomat,” he said. “He fought tirelessly for justice, democracy, and national progress.” The Minister emphasized Yalley's significant role in their victory on December 7, 2024.

Yalley was a respected legal practitioner and statesman. He held various positions within the NDC and government, including Ambassador to India. His death has led to many tributes from political leaders and citizens alike.

Many remember him as a committed patriot who devoted his life to public service and nation-building. Funeral arrangements will be announced by his family soon.
