Defence Minister questions Bawumia’s refusal to accept blame for NPP’s defeat

Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, has raised questions about Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Bawumia was the defeated flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections.

In a Facebook post on April 27, 2025, Dr. Omane Boamah expressed his concerns. He noted that Bawumia is blaming "everything and everybody" except himself for the NPP's loss.

Dr. Omane Boamah highlighted Bawumia's role in the policies that caused economic issues under the NPP administration. He stated that Bawumia cannot escape responsibility for these problems.

“Elections 2024: Bawumia is blaming everything and everybody EXCEPT HIMSELF,” he wrote. “Bawumia was critical for NPP’s economic mess!”
