Delaganza opens Ghana branch; CEO calls for government-backed beauty schools to boost industry standards

The beauty industry is more than just glamour. It drives global economies, generating over $300 billion each year.

In Ghana, beauty services like hair braiding and skincare are thriving. They create jobs and empower young entrepreneurs. These services are also reshaping lifestyles in the country.

However, experts say a key element is missing: formal education and professional training. Wosinu Gadri, CEO of Delaganza, emphasizes this need. At the launch of Delaganza Beauty Salon in East Legon, she called for government support to improve industry standards.

Gadri wants to establish an academy for beauty training. She believes the government should create dedicated beauty schools as well. Currently, most apprentices learn in salons without proper foundations. This leads to them picking up bad habits from salon owners.

Structured education could fill gaps in technical skills and customer care. Gadri notes that while there is talent in Ghana, informal training leaves many issues unaddressed.

She states that the beauty industry has improved but still has room for growth. Many salons focus on aesthetics but neglect practical aspects like customer service and technical knowledge.

Delaganza is a well-known brand from the Netherlands now expanding into East Legon, Ghana. They aim to combine international experience with local style and training. Their goal is to set a new standard for the local beauty industry.
