Despite the resentment, posterity will vindicate our government's good works - Bawumia

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the NPP Flagbearer for the 2024 Elections. He urged NPP members to take pride in the government's achievements. This comes despite the disappointment that led to their defeat.

Dr. Bawumia spoke during the party's National Thank You Tour, which he is leading. He acknowledged that some issues upset Ghanaians and contributed to their loss. However, he emphasized that the government also had many successes.

"The defeat meant we must examine what went wrong," he said. "We need honesty about these issues to improve our party." He noted that both he and the General Secretary have addressed these concerns.

Despite public resentment, Dr. Bawumia highlighted significant government achievements. He mentioned investments in infrastructure, education, health, and digitalization.

"People may be upset with us, but we have a strong record," he stated. "In eight years, we launched impactful projects like Planting for Food and Jobs."

He also mentioned initiatives like one ambulance per constituency and Agenda 111 hospital projects. "We accomplished much despite criticism," he added.

Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence that history will favor the NPP and President Akufo-Addo. He referenced former President Kufuor, who faced criticism but is now celebrated as a great leader.
