Nana Akomea, the former managing director of the State Transport Corporation (STC), is disappointed with the current government.
He believes the NDC, led by John Dramani Mahama, has let Ghanaians down. They are repeating actions they previously condemned during the NPP's time.
Akomea argues that if Mahama truly wanted to reset Ghana, changes are necessary. He criticized the use of security agencies to intimidate citizens. He also called for effective solutions to resolve the Bawku conflict.
He stated, “While we were in office, the NDC condemned us for a family and friends government.” They promised to do things differently and won votes based on that promise. Now in power, they are acting similarly to what they once criticized.
Akomea added, “They have deceived the people of Ghana.” This deception has weakened faith in democracy. He expressed pain over Mahama’s failure to implement real change.
He pointed out issues at the Bank of Ghana, where the Governor is also Board Chairman. “How is their work being checked?” he asked. Akomea noted that Mahama came into power with good intentions but has maintained problematic arrangements.
“If you say you want to reset the country, you must be committed,” he concluded during an interview on Asempa FM in Accra.
