Dismissed workers: You'll be prioritised for jobs in next NPP gov't - Bawumia

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer for the 2024 elections. He assured dismissed workers they will get priority for jobs under a future NPP government.

He made this promise during the NPP’s Thank You Tour in Takoradi on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Dr. Bawumia spoke with empathy about the hardships faced by those who lost their jobs recently.

“I know how it feels to lose your job,” he said. He acknowledged the sacrifices many have made and pledged to restore their livelihoods.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized that a future NPP government would create strong job initiatives. These initiatives will target those most affected by current economic challenges.

“I assure you that in the next NPP administration, you will be prioritised for jobs,” he promised, receiving enthusiastic applause from the crowd.

The Thank You Tour aims to re-engage supporters and reaffirm commitment ahead of December's polls. Dr. Bawumia reiterated that the NPP focuses on revitalising the economy and empowering businesses.

He also highlighted plans to provide sustainable employment for youth and displaced workers in Ghana.
