Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has emphasized the need for the government to confront economic realities and prioritize policies conducive to industrial growth and investment.
During the commissioning of a 430-kilometre natural gas pipeline by Genser Energy, the Asantehene highlighted the importance of involving the private sector in diversifying public enterprises like the Volta River Authority

He stated the necessity of moving beyond sole government involvement in establishing companies, advocating for policies that attract private investment to spur economic growth.
Citing challenges in maintaining state-run industries amidst financial constraints, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II urged a shift towards pragmatic strategies that leverage private sector expertise and resources.
"VRA and others are all government establishments, let’s give it out and diversify them into the private sector and get more money there and get the right people to do it. GRIDCo and others let’s give them the money and get the qualified people, diverse government from it and let them work. Electricity Company is in a situation where we don’t know, but that also must be diversified and given to the private sector," Otumfuo said.
The Asantehene also commended the private sector's role in attracting investors and underscored the importance of embracing such partnerships to navigate Ghana's economic landscape effectively.
